Finally available the brass band version of Belkis, Regina di Saba.

This piece tells the story of Belkis the beautiful and young queen of Saba who is invited by Salomon.

Originally it is a Ballet of 80 minutes, but later a suite was made of it that lasts about 25 minutes.

This first part "Solomon's Dream" takes place in Solomon's torchlit harem in Jerusalem.

A transcription from the moving song from "As it is in Heaven" (Wie im Himmel). The transcription is made special for the funeral of my dear friend and colleague Marlies who died of cancer in the age of 41. She was a hornplayer and her wish was to have a lot of colleague hornplayers playing this song at her funeral. 

9 different parts, with some easy ones but also some demanding parts (Solo, 1st and 8th horn). The 1st horn is rather high and the 8th horn is pretty low.

For holiday orchestra Adhoc 2019 Erik wrote an arrangement of Moanin 'by Charles Mingus. Daan van Koppen was the great soloist who was not inferior to Leo Pellingro where this piece and especially this version has become very famous.

The arrangement is available for Concertband and Fanfareorchestra.

Erik conducted the holiday orchestra Adhoc this summer. In a challenging program with eg. Grand Fanfare by D'Addona and The Sword and the Crown, but also very fine pieces of music such as Mine own King am I (beautifully performed by Anne Hoogendijk) and Moanin '(played very rowdy by Daan van koppen), the French audience was spoiled by the great musicians from the holiday orchestra that exists only for the occasion of this tour. In addition to the musical aspect, there was also a lot of room for a lot of social interaction, which ultimately made the tour a great success.
